Lakewalk

History

Lakewalk was developed in the mid-2000s on a Mooresville lakefront tract at the end of Brawley School Road, with a plan that emphasized walkability, family amenities, and shared lake access. Unlike the deep-water estate communities nearby, Lakewalk paired single-family homes with a community lake lot, a swimming pool, and a sidewalk network that actually connects to the water — making it one of the few Mooresville neighborhoods where kids can walk to the community beach.

Lifestyle

Weekends center on the lake lot: loading the kids into wagons, walking down the sidewalk to the community beach, and spending the day on the water before returning for a poolside cookout. The social calendar is driven by the Lakewalk Swim Team, the lake-lot potlucks, and the Halloween golf-cart parade. Households skew young families, teachers, and NASCAR industry professionals who wanted Mooresville schools with real lake access.

Traditional and transitional family homes, 2,200–4,200 sq ft on quarter- to half-acre lots. Common details: brick-and-siding facades, two-story foyers, covered front porches, and three-car garages. Recent renovations trend toward refined transitional with updated outdoor living spaces.
